 Dual-language website
The software that we use to create a dual-language website is available freely for others to use to create dual or multi-lingual websites. The software we use is Joomla! This is the latest generation of website creation software, content management software (CMS). It provides free, simple yet powerful features to be incorporated into websites, including shopping carts or image galleries etc. Different templates (or skins) can be chosen to give the content the desired visual appeal.

All that is required to get a multilingual website working is: 1. Web browser e.g. Internet Explorer.
2. Web host provider that offers Joomla! e.g. Lunarpages.
3. Save and upload the languages that you need, e.g. Irish language extension .
4. Start designing and translating your website content.
Create websites in Irish Currently, Joomla! versions 1.0.1.x allow the user to view the created websites in the chosen language, such as Irish. But websites must be created in the medium of English.
However, version 1.5 can allow the user to also create websites in their chosen language. We have begun the translation of the version 1.5 Irish language texts – about 25% is complete at present. More volunteers are required to get it completed soon. Please contact us if you can help.
