We are a non-denominational Christian Fellowship located in West Belfast. We have no formal links to other churches or organisations. While primarily from West Belfast, we also welcome others who are in agreement with our ethos, aims and beliefs. As followers of Jesus Christ, we like to be known simply as 'Christians'. Ethos and aimsWe want to live out our Christianity in a way which is relevant to the culture of the local community in West Belfast. We try to provide a welcoming environment where people can come and share Christian fellowship. We want to see lives renewed, relationships restored, and hope created. We want to see people develop their God-given abilities, especially spiritual ones, for the good of others, with Christian values benefiting all areas of life. Above all, we believe that this will occur as people get closer to God, through a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Relationship with GodMany people want to know the peace of God, the sense of freedom and forgiveness from the guilt of past sins, a fresh start and a deepening knowledge of a loving God working in their lives. The key to receiving these is to trust in Jesus. He said; "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14v6). He also promised; "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11v28). Jesus calls us to acknowledge our need of forgiveness and restoring, to place our trust in him alone, no matter what our past has been, or what situation we find ourselves in. Because of Jesus’ atoning death and resurrection life, we can receive all these blessings freely, from God the Father, by faith, through the power of the Holy Spirit. BeliefsWe believe in God's Word, the Bible, as the ultimate basis of our beliefs. We read it to hear what God is saying to us, so that he will guide us, and we can adjust our lives and views so that they are more in line with what he says. See the 'statement of faith' for more information. Click here for our introduction leaflet in both Irish and English (PDF format). |
